Jayantee Paine Ganguly had started her training at a young tender age of 4 years old.  Her mother Julie Paine is her first  teacher and mentor teaching her the basics of the Odissi dance until she was 6 years old.

1976- Calcutta was the grounds for her formal training Rabindrik Style (Rabindranath) or Tagore dance style nurturing her skills in lyrical dance.

1977- Through an audition of the dance troup of Ananda Shankar, Jayantee further developed her formal training in Odissi in Calcutta with Murulidhar Majhi (Guruji) through 1980.

1980- She came back to the USA.

1980-1996- She had trained with Murulidhar Majhi.

1989-1990 She developed her Kathak dance training with Guru Bandana Sen

1996- She left her job in the US and went to Bhubaneshwar Orissa to study with KumKum Mohanty (Guruji) the original two of the Kelucheran style at the Odissi Research Center.  She travels every year and studies with her. Jayantee has also performed in the Konark Festival (the dancers are strickly chosen through a critical selection) as well as  performances  with KumKum Mohanty and her dance troup (ananda Shankar and her troup).

Jayantee has been teaching dance since 1982 at the University of Martinsburg.  She has choreographed for various communities and museums as a freelancer.

Jayantee has performed with the Odissi Dance Academy several times and has been on stage at the Kennedy Center several times

Bacherler's Degree from GMU in Mass Communications.

Masters in performing Art from the American University.

Jayantee has served seven years on Darshan TV as a host.

Currently, Jayantee is holding classes in Odissi, Kathak, Mohiniattam, Modern Dance, Contemporary Indian dance, in both Virginia and Maryland area.
